Array ( [sid] => 164174 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Imperfect Pine [time] => 2011-01-09 02:11:23 [hometext] => A personal reflection in a meeting with a particularly decrepit pine tree. [bodytext] => Rigid Wooden Spine
Standing Straight and Still
Shaggy Coniferous Foliage
Lacking Completion
Lacking itself
Seemingly Lifeless
Yet Somehow Still Alive
A Dull, Yet Droll Inanimate Husk
With No Thoughts of Its Own.
Oh Imperfect Pine
You and I are not indifferent
Why is it so imperfect Pine,
That Your means no more than mine?
Why is it so as well Imperfect Pine,
That you choose to stay alive? [comments] => 3 [counter] => 152 [topic] => 25 [informant] => xHeathenx [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

A Very abstract philosophic reflection....hard to come by these days....a lot of depth in your thoughts...

I know I'm not supposed to comment on my own poems, but I just wanted to point out to anyone reading that in the last few lines,

The line should say
"Oh Imperfect Pine
You and I are not so indifferent
Why is it so Imperfect Pine,
That Your **life** means no more than mine?"

The word life was missing out of it. I somehow forgot to type that word.

i can relate to your poem's theme...but if i were to answer the last line as the Imperfect Pine, i would lie to you (and myself) although i already know the answer...sadly.

take care
