Where is Sanctuary?

Suicide

The darkness is blinding,
so tightly shut are my eyes.
Too many call it disturbed,
but I cant hide from these cries.
The loitering is exhausting,
so run, do I, and never look back.
The only thing I regret
are the angelic wings that I lack
The cold is stifling,
like the space between your lungs.
Still you try to get to a higher place.
Your ladder is missing its rungs
The sight of red is calming,
a colour you unknowingly adore.
Behind your back, I find sanctuary
to paint with a few permanent scores.
Six feet under I fly.
A dream I hold too tight.
A dream to conquer the impossible.
A dream to be out of sight
