Array ( [sid] => 164029 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => For My Son [time] => 2010-12-31 08:07:09 [hometext] => I wrote this poem for my son when he was just 10 months old and his father and I split up, I wanted to explain so much to him and couldn't as he was so young, he is now 10 years old and loves this piece I wrote for him. Any comments welcome :) [bodytext] => I gaze at you and feel my mothers pride shine
It amazes me how personalities can intertwine
As I watch you I see bits of me show through
And on the flip side of the coin I see your father too
I hope you never feel that I've let you down in any way
As you grow I'll try and explain, keep your unanswered questions at bay
The reasons why I felt I couldn't stay with your dad
And put your mind at rest that it wasn't always bad
Sadly sometimes people they just grow apart
They need to break free for a brand new start
But in no way will that ever change how we feel about you
You're part of us both and we love you through and through
We will be there right by your side through both thick and thin
That's the one thing that binds us, being there and watching your life begin
A life experience that can never be erased, son
For no matter what else in life we will always be your dad and your mum [comments] => 2 [counter] => 188 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Jussy74 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

If every divorce and or separation were always accompanied by those words, then i think it would make them more bearable!
I loved it!
