FRIENDS
Footprints in the sands of time
Lonely ones glowing away
All through the plains and climb
Across darkness and day they lay
Riding the waves of destiny
In the boat rowing hard
Could I astonishingly see
Ahead & behind immense guard
The numbers grew along the way
Footprints of men of the journey
First two now many there lay
Standing by my side blindly
During dark peril & bright joy
Companions who would not desert
were all the needed convoy
To keep me safe and unhurt
