Weakened by champagne streets and flying high

Some are so used they can’t comprehend re-entry

Great expectations lost inside a decisions dance

Boulevard parking and sinning against the trust

A baby is born minutes before sliding doors gasp

Bloody knees cross in the struggle to stand tall again

Torn photographs fade as tear drops water reality

Cold and lonely they begin to count the cracks

This poem instantly made me think in my country's actual social situation.
What a shame!
Good writing, though. Those are some powerful lines over there!

Struggle for survival or even just to stand tall with a view of another kind of life staring you starkly in the face and then there's the dice........ a baby is born minutes before sliding doors gasp....brilliant line powerful in its implication, can feel the soul being eroded away in this, captured by a very talented writer who not only takes you there but immerses you in that world.

Hi Duff
this is a very complex piece of writing. It is full of depth of thought and as always you deliver the poem perfectly. Well done and a merry Christmas to you.

I really related to "great expectations lost inside a decisions dance." I really like that line. It is a great way to explain how one feels about indecisiveness and the decisions we must make in life. I also liked "torn photographs fade as tear drops water reality"
Such a true and profound statement.

This may be because I've been playing zombie games and watching zombie movies but all I see is the survivors in a chicago-style city after it's been torn apart by the infection.

I really adore this poem though. Not for what it means to you, but for the multiple things that it means to me. Not just zombies either. (Though, I feel like most people are mindless zombies aside...)
