You would see Mirrors
With golden frames carved with lions and angles
Cracked , and mishaped
Some even see through and for telling

Through these mirrors
Sued shoes and name brand shirts would never cross
Nike would be but A name, and Jordan's would be just a shoe
The fake would fade into empty thoughts
and the real would some how spring into action

Never confusing my self with what you want me to be
never dwelling in macerate ideas
Which seem to be whispered and carried with the wind
Ideas told through the radio and the big screen

I look into countless mirrors hopeing I could be what you want
But I realize we are the same
Desperate for the affection of some one who could truly understand
I am trying to be all that you want
But through my depictions of reality...

But when you look at me
The mirror shows no reflection
No "Swag" of hubris
It's just me

The mirror then falls to the ground and breaks
Then you see who I really am
A man who enjoys the simpler things in life
Just hoping the mirror I dream of
Always reflects [comments] => 3 [counter] => 164 [topic] => 73 [informant] => hungarianhaze [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 1 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

I like the topic that you've chosen and I agree that the small things in life tend to be more meaningful.

A man who enjoys the simpler things in life
Just hoping the mirror I dream of
Always reflects

I really like that. Well done.

Excellent job again! I really liked the mirror analogy, and I think many can relate to your feeling of too much hype over stupid name brand products. Reality is slowly slipping away, and being replaced with brand names. People don't value virtue, and kindness as they once did. Materialism is a sad thing sometimes.
