But I sit in the dark,
Alone in my prison,
Dark shadows embark,
I wonder whats in them,
They carry the mark,
Of conventional wisdom.

And the walls are my ego,
The bars are my pain,
My sentence unknown,
My crime unnamed.

I wish i could walk,
My mountains again,
But i took the wrong fork,
And shouldered the blame,
Yet the song of the lark,
My soul can't refrain,
Destined to stalk,
Bleak nightmares again. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 169 [topic] => 21 [informant] => huwbeauty [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

What an awesome write! This is great. A flood of emotion that roars like a river carrying you through all the way to the end. Everything fits beautifully and I'm glad you shared this. I believe each of us have our own demons and sometimes those demons can shackle us from all that is good. Well done.

Another good piece it has a beautiful flow of words and
emotions from the start to the end and culminates with
these final lines I really like.

Yet the song of the lark,
My soul can't refrain,
Destined to stalk,
Bleak nightmares again

Good to read and I can relate to the emotions of blame
in this write and closing yourself off to the ones that
would help you through. Take care and keep your head
up and just write to get the thoughts out that you cant
share with others. Steve
