Array ( [sid] => 163360 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => September 11th [time] => 2010-11-21 03:21:52 [hometext] => A poem describing the terrorist attack on America, written by me last year to be performed in a drama exam. Dedicated to all that were killed or injured, or lost a friend or family member on this awful day. [bodytext] => She stands rooted in horror in the chaotic street
Firefighters push past her, she can't move her feet.
Head reeling and spinning, she stares into the sky,
And the woman does nothing but stand there and cry.

Her fresh tears soon get mingled with a downpour of rain
But it can't wash away so much heart break and pain.
In an hour or two, she'll walk home in despair,
As she knows in her heart that he won't be there.

A little girl's ragdoll, so carefully sewn,
Left in the rubble and dust all alone.
Frantic eyes searching, she finally sees-
A mother's cries join the rest as she falls to her knees.

Blind panic, confusion, not daring to hope
Mothers clutch children, trying so hard to cope.
Terror etched on to faces so pale,
As on through the noise, the sirens still wail.

A sickening act, stolen innocent lives
A flicker of hope as another survives.
Tirelessly working, the firemen will not give in
Hot flames engulf them, as they swarm within.

Nine years have passed, wounds are still raw
Still bravery and spirit, you just can't ignore.
The rain finally stopped, the sun broke through the clouds,
And the people? They learned not to cry but be proud.

A lifetime of memories, they'll never fade
As fresh as the flowers that keep being laid.
Families look at the stars in the sky,
And they'll never forget. They won't say goodbye.

It's ironic america is always at war
murdering thousands, this we know for a fact,
I wonder how long the one's america murders
dwells on the
afore mentioned, nicely written
