Array ( [sid] => 163245 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => DEAD TO ME [time] => 2010-11-14 21:18:55 [hometext] => Inspired by the movie, THE VICIOUS KIND. Also life. [bodytext] => What happened to make you so cold?
The pain inflicted on you is sad, wrong.
Lay down your weapons, let love free.
It's been there waiting for you
all along.

How could you tell someone,
they're dead to you?
When a family member is hurt
You don't kick um in the face.
She could never do that to you, hey.

My heart weeps to see my loved ones
torn a part.
All I've ever given is un-conditional
love.
Even a bum in the street don't
deserve that.
Lay down your weapons, let real
love start.

What if this person suddenly
died tomorrow?
Your hurting words would haunt
your life thru.
So please make right your
selfish wrongs.
You're not really a cold heartted
hater, It's true.

She'll always love un conditionally,
you see?
Even if pain conflicts her heart
and soul,
Hurt is pain tunred inside
out needing release.
Let pain go fly away make love
you goal. [comments] => 9 [counter] => 311 [topic] => 75 [informant] => emystar [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 13 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => anguished )

lay down your weapons, let love free....defensive hitting out and hurting and so the cycle continues until someone's voice challenges to find a better way.....hurt is pain.....needing release, Wisdom empathy and a big heart all expressed through your writing I hope you are heard x

Hi Emy,

Love conquers all - at least we hope it does ... and
the hope is in your poem.

Nicely written.

Tommy

My favorite line "lay down your weapons, let love free"
I always thought it would be a sight if one day in some conflict all of the soldiers would just lay down their weapons and demand to go home. All the lives that would be saved.

Pain and fear are powerful forces upon body, mind and spirit. But the power of love is indefinite.

Hi Emy,

I have had more than one person say this to me, for imagined slights etc, and I have laid the same trip on others through word and deed. A complicated reaction, with forgiveness required on both sides. Good to see someone writing about it.
