[hometext] => This is a poem to describe my fight after a breakup. The fight between depression and moving on, finding a way to get over it and accept and learn from the experience without shutting down.
[bodytext] => In four days my world has crashed, The bones in my body smashed To bits, and painful reminders of What is not continuing. The love Was lost in time and space, between The borders of a lively dream, But dreams will fade and flicker When you realize what the bigger Picture is for life, and smiles turn To frowns, love gets turned down And buried in the dark heart of one, Who used to close her eyes and run Blindly toward you in faith, and One day smacked head first into truth, land- ing in a pile of spears, gouging into her flesh To prove the pain and love have all mesh- ed into hurt and confusion, steady Going to the edge of the cliff and ready To finish the pain for good But don’t let them rule your should have’s and could have’s, that taint your Memories and thoughts of the more To come in the future, the good that waits When the pain passes and hesitates, And doesn’t stop her heart from reaching For the new goal that is teaching Her how to love again and accept pain, As a part of the clouds and rain, But moving to shed light for the sun Because good follows when bad is done. Don’t forget to laugh and cry, But most of all ask yourself why? Why am I in this place today, Where everything I see is heavy and gray. And how do I move forward to release The gray and find even a piece Of my life before the pain But I know it will never be the same, I am different from before you and because of you, and that means I am new, now different from before, I can start a new score For my life, the melody to lead me To the next stage, the rests to see What has taken shape from The efforts I have made, and the lives changed, stun’ ned at what truly has prevailed, Everyday as I exhale My grief and sorrow, To see the light of tomorrow.
