As I sit here on my naughty step
Thinking about what I have done
My mind seems to drift to a wonderful place
And the naughty step becomes lots of fun

The spider that hangs is a devilish fiend
And the fly a maiden in distress
I am the hero as I save the day
And squash the spider no less

I release the fly from her sticky silk chains
And she comes and sits on my knee
And as I look upon her head
You’ll never guess what I see

The smallest crown of diamonds and gold
The most beautiful you ever did see
She curtseys and smiles the sweetest smile
And whispers “thank you for setting me free”

“For I am not just any old fly
As you might possibly guess
As you can tell from the crown on my head
I am a fly princess”

“I will remember you till the end of my day
And be there when you are in need
Come with me now to my kingdom
As we celebrate of your fearless deed”

Suddenly mum comes along the hall
To my horror the princess flies away
“Have you thought about error of your ways”
“Not enough I think I should stay”
