Array ( [sid] => 162823 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Ad finem temporis [time] => 2010-10-19 02:30:53 [hometext] => I wrote this after a 2.5 year relationship ended. I was feeling crushing sadness. She was my first real love. [bodytext] => Fading into the eternal pit of desire.
Never to be touched, only observed.
Wasteful, but natural, consuming the fire within,
while at the same time erroding the dreams beneath our feet.
Slowly we slip away as we grow, trying not to fade,
as the fire burns slowly from the inside out.

Swiftly the seasons change,
bringing one flame together,
while ripping others apart.
The slow painful withdrawal,
eating away at the soul,
Fighting resistance,
but also accepting it.

The flame burns,
lit by desire,
sowed throughout humanity.
Kindled by kindness,
strengthened through virtue.
Neverending, never faltering love,
given no restraint,
destroyed by indecisive action.
Lost is the flame,
doused by the tears of lost love,
waiting to be lit again.

Broken is the final verdict.
The shattered pieces glittering brightly in the light of the morning,
but marring the true beauty of the whole.
Easy to break, but as hard as cold steel.
Built in a new image, dawn will deliver the truth.

Well no wonder you made the comment you did about my poem "Prose V Poetry". After reading this, it is self explanatory.
Please do not mock what you yourself cannot - apparently - do!

immortal and forever are these memories of the past, retelling them so must bring some pain back fast. But also, it aids as a way to relieve the bitter ending that all things must leave.

A nice write, from the heart.
2bpositive, always....
