The pretentious illiterate, hah as if,
An old englishman and his arrogant quiff,
Snickering and Snarking he goes about his day,
Laughing at children and calling himself gay,
He wears circular glasses he doesn’t even need,
To look at art with oblivious heed,
He reads in the library examining what he brings,
Looking at pictures and smelling interesting things,
A simple mind masked by an arrogant trance,
He likes watching monkeys they look like they dance,
He hoots and hollers laughing rattling the cage,
The monkeys look at him he’s in a confused rage,
An euphoric mood set on by apes,
‘I am the king’ he says ‘feed me some grapes’

I liked the double standard the man had for himself. It was all very clever. I also enjoyed the bit at the end where he becomes more ape-like than the monkeys themselves. Very nice. |
