Someone must pay the cost
For another political error
Or yet another young life lost
But you or I can't stand our ground
Or find our peace of mind
Whether we want to believe it or not
We are running out of time
There is famine and disaster
Blood, and sweat, and tears
But this hasn't happened recently
It's been going on for years
The violence seems to escalate
With every passing day
As someone else gets shot at
Or a murderers put away
There are little tiny children
Defenceless in the street
Strung between temptation
And all the worlds beliefs
But you or I can't do much
We are just two helpless souls
Strung between the reality of
Our personal dreams and goals
We could yell and scream and rampage
Then maybe for a day
The world will stop and listen
To what we have to say
But once our minds have spoken
And we've done the best we can
Someone will soon disagree
They just don't give a damn
I hear everybody asking
How can I be so scared
The future still holds so much
But no-body REALLY cared
With all the war and violence
Going on in the world today
Can I really call myself human
To react any other way.

I agree, very powerful.
first I do appreciat4 all of our military even tho I may not agree with our government at times.
It really is enlightening to here one that's been there.
I could go on and about my thoughts and feelings but I think you summed it up really well.
Great job.
huggs, blessings, peace,
emy
