Watching the moon dance upon the ocean
Listening to the sweet sound of nothingness
And I wonder
Are you sitting there silently too
Watching the moon waltze with the waves
In your own little corner of the world
Does the massaging sound of the waves soothe your sences too?
As I remember back to a time when life...and love were simple
Your smiling face fills my mind...And I smile.
When there was you...life was uncomplicated and easy
Just a look from you...or a smile my way
Let me know all was right in the world.
I think of you now, again, as I have a million times
Since we said goodbye
And I wonder..
Have you ever missed me...ached to kiss me
Do you ever regret putting me on that bus,
And waving as i drove out of your life
As mine has more times than i care to remember
Have you searched a phonebook for my name
Or reached for the telephone 10 times, only to drop it again
And now, years later, as you lie awake at night
With the person you now spend your life with
Do you ever..in the darkest, most secret parts of your soul ever wonder
What If...

I usually have little time nor tolerance for prose as i figure it is far to easy to put random eclectic thoughts together and try passing it off as 'poetry'. But i must admit i enjoyed what you wrote as i think nearly all of us play the 'what if' and the 'if only' game.
Thanks for the imagery you created.
Cheers.
