Array ( [sid] => 162211 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Eyes like Diamonds [time] => 2010-09-08 06:23:17 [hometext] => This is about being in-love with someone you don't want to love. This is a VERY true story of when I was eighteen and I loved a younger boy... [bodytext] => his eyes sparkled like diamonds,
whenever he looked at my face,
but i ruined it that night,
i let him get to second base,
cause he said he loved me,
and he'd never judge me,
and i was all he would ever need.
we shouldn't have smoked those "cigarettes",
and i shouldn't have made a scene,
but the second he said he wanted more,
i began to scream,
i'd had enough,
you've gotta be tough sometimes.
and i know i led him on,
calling him up when i was alone,
even his best friend let me know-
i was a *****,
he said that boy was the best i would ever have.
but i couldn't stand him being so loud,
and i tried my best to drown him out,
but he was determined,
he knew what he wanted,
and he never once gave up on "us".
it drove me crazy how he always said the things,
i used to think i'd want to hear,
until the minute they left his lips,
and he tried to pull me near,
because then i'd slap him,
while he sat there laughing,
saying he knew i loved him too.
and i did,
but more like a friend,
us being together,
it was just pretend,
and i told him,
to me he was just a little boy.
but at times it was different,
none of us were perfect,
maybe he did love me,
and i should get over it,
but everyone said,
i was in way over my head.
deep inside i knew,
he was wise beyond his years,
and at times i couldn't help it,
when he said he knew i felt it,
why try to hide it,
no use denying it,
he's just to damn cute with those eyes....

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
