a final flurry of powdered white
the last gusts of chill wind;
late frost and pale light
adieu good Winter and goodnight

huddled around the fire’s light
windows shut and curtains drawn;
clothing gathered close and tight
adieu good Winter and goodnight

the water stubborn in the pipes
shivering in tousled beds;
early fog and cold delight
adieu good Winter, and good night.

Am I the only person in the world who likes winter? lol Winter seems to have about as many fans as rain. Having said that, I did like this poem, the last stanza especially.

Hi,

Thought you were somewhat premature with
this one until I realised that you're in some part
of OZ where your winter is our summer ... and
vice versa.

As always - well constructed, nice flow, and
topically well chosen.

Tommy
