From this life of mine
That emptiness surrounding me
Has got bigger in time
I'm not sure I'll ever be the same
I don't think anyone would
'cause my heart is misunderstood

I've been trying to find the answers
To questions not yet been asked
I've been crying the tears of a broken man
About the good things that never last
We cannot win every battle
But it would be nice if we could
'cause my heart is misunderstood

No matter what you take from me
I've got all I'm ever going to need
I've felt the hurt, I've touched the pain
And I'm never going back there again
You should know by now

I feel I've swam an ocean
To get back on my feet
I've got distant memories of the life I had
And the people I used to meet
I've got to where I am on my own
Because you never listened like you should
That's why my heart is misunderstood

I've finally pieced together
This jigsaw puzzle of a life
Through all the love and all the hope
You still cut through me like a knife
You've always brought out the worst in me
But I know your intentions were good
My heart is misunderstood [comments] => 1 [counter] => 224 [topic] => 48 [informant] => chrisdavid [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
