Walked a man with sorrow great —
Thought he, had he, this and that,
Life would be so successful!

Walked he so with cry and sigh,
Heart laden with broken dreams!
Met he then a man benign —
Found him strange and wonderful!

Dynamo of joy his heart!
Storehouse of content his eyes!
Thoughts and speech and actions, all,
Factories of Love and Peace!

Asked he to that man benign
Reasons for his joy and peace —
Asked he: “Have you name and fame?
Billions? Buildings? Business? Gains?”

Told he then with smiling face:
“Nay, my dear! I’ve none of these.”
“How this joy, this content, still?
How you keep thus smiling still?”

“Come I from the other side!
So I see this sea of life
Not as you here do my dear!
How we see things matters most!

“Viewing only those above
Pining, whining, while you stay,
Viewing always those below
Stay we, joyous, satisfied!

“Grieve we not for what we lack;
Grieve we at our neighbours plight!
Give we more than what we take;
Sharing, caring, live we, dear!

“Counting distance yet not done,
Swoon you soon and slow your steps;
Counting distance that we did,
Scale we newer heights always!

“Morrow or that yesterday,
See not we as this Today!
Choose we not these or those ways;
Choose we mostly middle ways!

“Ever forward we do walk;
Failures, problems we don’t fear!
Loss or gain, oh, we don’t mind!
What we ought to do we do!

“While you love the love of life
Life of love is what we live!
While for wealth and power you aim
Love and Joy and Peace we claim!”

Nice write....easy for some but not for all...'Count your blessings...know that life on earth is not permanent. Get in touch with ones soul and spend time with it and do not make your life about worldly triumphs but work toward love, peace and joy'. Not easy but we can all try.
