[time] => 2010-08-14 08:48:54 [hometext] => My wife and I sat with her mother yesterday, she was packing things away, giving things away. She accepts her condition and is planning for the future. it was a sad scene. [bodytext] => There is an uneasiness in this room
In my mind.
Here we three sit at the kitchen table,
Your mother, you and I.
The rain is strumming a tune on the roof,
And beyond the window I watch large warm raindrops
Cascading down the wall, each drop chasing another
Away down the yard.
The gloom of the outside is reflected in this room
In corners sufused with greying light
And memories that hang heavy in the air.
I toss you a glance and my sigh seems to echo
And bounce off every corner of this room.
Your mother is suprising in her frankness
And her total acceptence of the dark years to come.
She packs crystal glasses for you to accept
In the trueness of the giving.
And we sit on in this gloomy unpedictable room,
Sipping tea, hearing your mother speak of the past,
All three of us alone in a lonliness dedicated to this moment. Hi Dennis,

A truly touching and personal insight into the
connection of 3 people facing adversity with great
dignity.
