Tell me, dear love,
Why you lie to yourself and you run from
All the joys that the world can see.
Why do you fight? Why do you cry
And pretend that wanting something new is a crime?
A bittersweet release, free of strings--
Isn't that everyone's dream?
You may think you fool the world, love,
But you don't fool me.
At your weakest, dear saint, I am your sin;
Shame on you for letting me in.
Grow up and admit that this is what you need:
With me, you can set the monster free.

I really like the last four lines, they flow very nicely and the content is great. The contrast in the line "dear saint, I am your sin;" is wonderful. |
