long barren night ago
i sat and pondered on this dream
through a year or so
for in this dream
i dreampt i was awake
and as i awoke i found myself asleep
and in some twisted corridor
a wiseman as myself did creep
bending creaking sneaking
leaking into the night
and sinking to oblivion below
and on a snow laced mountain top
stained in blood
a blizzard did howl
i found an aged relic scorned and scowled
and now my angel stood before me
frozen faced in awe
bound by love and an aeon of folklore
this mystic beauty approached me
and brought silence to my soul
a sullen abyss above me
and a heaven lingered down
a silver glass ballroom with an angel at its top
and a fogged and golden hell with a demon at its stead
a chapel for the hated
a sanctuary for the lost
a torment for the righteous
and a prison at a cost
a church for the damned
and a hell for the good
a burden for the wicked
a rain that burns
a purified crucifix
an alter for the sacrifice
the last and counting price
a sickening perfumed bitter air
in this heaven for the evil
no good man stood
an an angel in my nightmare
a lover in my bed
speechless heartbroken tears i did cry
ruby crimson droplets softly singing goodbye
i awake in this limbo to find myself dead
and that lover in another bed
and now i am awake again
breathing a stagnant air
i wish to dream the same
as i did a lifetime ago
