I think of you almost everyday and don't know why.
I can't escape it. I see it and I hear it everyday,
people talk about their dad and I see people with theirs.
And I think what's it like?

I'm grateful for my mother and I do love her.
She's strong and brave raising us on her own,
and I try my best to support her in my own ways.
I love coming home to her but it doesn't feel right
because you're not there.

Even if you're still out there and maybe someday
I should be able to see you, I couldn't.
It'll feel wrong looking at my father
and thinking he's practically a stranger, though I wish
I'll get the courage.

Even if I don't know you I still love you.
It's not your fault so if you ever read this,
don't blame yourself. It's not anyone's fault.
Painful things happen and I have to accept the fact
that you never saw me grow up.

It's sort of hard though, to be honest.
People tell me I should be grateful you're not dead,
and I tell them you might as well be, they give out to me.
"At least you have your precious memories" but that's the thing,
I don't. I don't remember your voice, your face, your arms.
Most regrettably of all, I don't remember your love. If your dad even read this once..he would be so happy..to know you think about him so much, proves the love you think about each day is his love returning from him to you.Great inspiring words..You made this dads' day!

This is sad but the sweet thing that stands is your willingness to understand. If he ever reads this he would be so proud of you. Also he may feel like he doesn't have the right to be in your life and that may be keeping him a way.
Hang tuff and you should be proud 'cause you have an amazing heart.
blessings,
emy

Excellent write! You capture your emotions well. It is a shame about your father not seeing you but a lot of relationships don't work out so blame yourself.
Take care, Chris.

A poignant write! May this love for your father (and especially for your mother) be there ever.
