Infection of Recollection

Contributed by JackDylan on Wednesday, 7th July 2010 @ 05:35:44 AM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

I shiver like I'm going to go insane
Like nothing will ever be the same again

All my hopes and dreams have gone down the drain
I never wanna leave my garbage ruined domain.

The storys I remember from years gone by
Promised love and life, and a brighter sky

Now I've grown and can see on my own
The world has never been so alone.

Divorces and diseases, the pain never eases
Destitute and alone, boredom never ceases.

Playing a waiting game of death, as we walk around daily
Hoping our lives aren't cut short by some crazy israeli

Addictions and temptations, stalk my every move
I search frantically for an idea, but I haven't got a clue

My brain is now dormant, until the next explosion
10 years ago, this isn't the life I would have chosen.

Wow... very powerful write. Sometimes hindsight can be really painful. I'm only 17 but even now I can look back on some things I expected of myself 2 or 3 years ago and realized i've lost alot of time already.

I liked how you talked about the "Playing a waiting game of death", its very poetic. I guess in the end it all comes down to learning to accept our own limitations and present situation, if we ever hope to have a brighter future. If life now isn't what you wanted 10 years ago, makes sure that you can;t say the same in another 10 years :D !

Best of luck and thanks for sharing.
