A MOTHER'S LAP

On April 6th of this year, "Taskin" a Gypsy Stallion
gave birth to a lively filly,
Exhausted from the birthing she laid down, and
her baby curled in her lap all cuddly.

Close to her heart, so the baby could continue to hear it beat.
Leaving the womb, the bonding was still not complete
Upon her hoofs she rested, for she too was exhausted.
Reassurance, security, just one more hug prompted

"Are you still with me Mom?" As the newborn roots for nourishment?
"Never fear little one, Mom is near, rest, be still, be silent.
You have your whole life to romp, jump, and bound.
Sleep soundly now, not a sound."

A Mother's lap is so endearing, no matter who you are it's precious!
Closely knit in each other's hearts, with such tender dearness
Mother earth warms their souls, for a noon day nap
No better place to enjoy it than a Mother's lap!

These beautiful images were
sent to me in an email.
I created a poem to go with this
'cause I simply couldn't resist!

Warm love,
Lovingcritters
ConSue
