Does life exist after the heart has bled itself dry?
Is life the same when you have no tears left to cry?
What determines when the goal is forever out of reach?
Does it truly do good to stand on the soapbox and preach?

Life does continue to exist for some
Though without feeling, continually numb
Listening to those who say it is better to have loved and lost
Because there was love, your image on my heart will forever be embossed

When there is nothing more left to offer to you
What would you have me to do?
Standing at the edge of the pier
I watch you drift away when you were once so near

There are no right answers, only guesses to give
I do know numbly is how each day I will live
Wondering what I did that made things go wrong
The emptiness makes these days last so long

Life Without The Heart
