I know that I am different,
I know that in myself,
My heart is not the same,
The same as everyone else.
I see things in a different way,
Than most would dare to dream,
And in my eyes there is a spot,
An odd sort of gleam.
It causes me some troubles,
With family and with friends,
But even though its tough at times,
I always make amends.
But I'm tired of saying I'm sorry,
For being who I am,
Is it really all my fault,
For breaking through that dam?
So I'm saying this to you,
You could never understand me,
You had always been blinded,
Never able to see.
So look past all my supposed "flaws",
All my quirks you tried to smother,
So look deep into my blackened heart,
And you will discover just how much a daughter could hate her mother.
