Array ( [sid] => 160533 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Snapshot Of The Moor. [time] => 2010-06-11 09:02:45 [hometext] => We had quite a stormy few days just recently. This is a look at the moor on a windy evening after a bout of heavy rain.Blorenge, skirid, sugar loaf are local mountains.. [bodytext] => The wind is banging a drum on the sodden moor
And the young sapling trees are swaying,
A shy young woman who has lost all her inhibitions,
Dancing a manic jive in the gathering dusk.
Above me a buzzard has words with the wind, at one point seeming to fold,
Then with a swift dip of silky wings, he exits,
Leaving the moor to its lonely existence.
Out of the trees comes an old tom cat, one eye shut
In a pirate's patch of one misadventure too many, in his mouth a mouse still struggles,
Trailing a smile across the old boy's face.
He pauses to take a firmer grip then disappears into the hedge
To toy with this latest gift from the long grass.
The fields are running liquid green to distant mountains
Where, with a sad eye slowly blinking, the last streaks of light are fading.
And the three peaks of Blorenge, Sugar Loaf and Skirrid, putting their differences to one side,
Come together to prop up the fragile sky.
And now I am alone on the moor, the wind is winding down, the buzzard is perching
And the old tom cat is resting in the glow of a job well done.
I sit on the gate and shiver, and although this place is displaying a ghostly tendency,
Right now it is mine, its solitude my true friend,
A cool hand soothing the fever of my muddled mind. I love stormy weather- this really captures the essence of nature flexing her muscle.

Hmm, I don't know why but, this reminds me of Thoreau. It's nice.

The best cure for a muddled mind is a walk with Nature, I should know for my mind is often muddled lol I think Nature can reflect the processes of the mind, stormy, struggling, then when the wind drops and everyone gets on with what they are born to do then there is rest, peace solitude and a soothing. As always really enjoyed this, depth of detail and depth of sensitivity
