It left you alone with just your dad
A young boy who hadn't quite started school
In the early years all you'd do was cry
And keep on asking your daddy 'Why?'
Why you felt so helpless and such a fool
He said,'Through it all'
'Mama's watching you'

As the years rolled by all the hurt you'd feel
You were told that the pain would heal
Finally it was time to move on
You passed your exams and had your dreams
But you soon found out life's harder than it seems
You had to choose between the right and wrong
And through it all
Mama's watching you

You got a job that paid real well
But it was your daddy's health that fell
He passed away when you were just twenty-four
It took you a while but marry you did
You had a wife and a wonderful kid
Everyone said his eyes were just like yours
And through it all
Mama's watching you

Your son grew up and before you knew
He became a father just like you
Everything in your life was now just fine
You became ill one day at home
But when you died you were not alone
You knew your life had run the course of time
And through it all
Mama's been watching you...

For all that's to come
You're watching with mama too

He said through it all Mama's watching you,a comfort that is needed, a knowledge that will carry you through, and an affirmation of love and care that never leaves, all enough to give you the strength to take you through life, lovely warm reassuring write

This could totally be a country song. I'm really into a country music phase and I'd love it if this became one. It's really touching. :)
