full of broken promises, wishes never shared
The people who have come and gone
some early, tragic yet...those broken dreams and promises
will somehow go unmet
To understand and know, there are ones whose hurt run's deep
If I could only help them, in my arms I'd safely keep
Such sorrow grows within my heart, a seed that now takes root
the tears I've shed now water it and it seems to grow it's shoot
All I know is what I feel and the sunshine now is hid
dark storm clouds gather over, in it's rage I'm in the midst
I wish smiles for others, lifetimes of joy so sweet
I wish this sorrow would go away and in peace I'd live and dream.

The longing in this poem is heartbreaking, but so wonderfully written. You've written a wonderful poem here.
