"WORD MASTER"

On the steps of a building sat a blind boy,
by his feet was an empty hat.
a large sign, "I am blind, Please Help"
next to him sat
except for a few coins, the hat was empty.
none the less, he sat quietly, his bare feet comely.

A man walking by stopped and observed the scene
taking coins from his pocket numbering thirteen
then he took the sign and wrote some words
turned it around, and continued walking onwards

Soon the hat was filled to the brim.......
people were so generous, were the words a hymn?
the boy heard steps of the same man and recognized them
then he asked, "Did you change my sign? Was it a poem?

"I only wrote the truth. your words, but different way
I wrote, "Today is beautiful, but I can't see the day"
should we be surprised that the sign was so effective?
the second sign told people they were lucky not to be blind
and begging!

There's a fine moral to this story above........
be thankful for what you have, be creative,
be innovative, think differently, and positively
never forget to love........
be a good "Word Master" when you display your
personality.
show words of mercy, compassion, eliminating grouchy!

Each day will bring 100 reasons to cry,
display your smiles anyway, positive try.
n'er look back at past mistakes with regret
be kind to yourself, delete, and reset.

A smile for someone you might meet, someone
you might greet.
no greater satisfaction in this lifetime, no
sweeter treat,
than to know you helped another smile
more than sublime, it's really neat!

I created this from a lovely
email that my friend Marilyn sent me
Thank you so much Marilyn
the poem is mine

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile,
a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment,
or the smallest act of caring, all of which have
the potential to turn a life around."

Dear Consue,

Your message holds so much beauty & truth. Sadly, we can often forget these in the hustle & bustle of everday life & in the mundane. It says to me * sparkling *. . . "Be kind. Be true. Be able to accept & praise. Be yourself., as God made you. Be gentle, intimate & sincere in our endeavors with each other." & in the circle of life it all comes back to around. An unending circle of love.
Beautiful words & a beautiful message from your beautiful heart!! elle :)

a friend once told me that 'words rule the world' and my slogan when i was contesting for secretary general, during my diploma days, was 'men have changed the world with the power of the pen, i want to change my time with mine'. i believe this poem has proven these positions true.
you never cease to put me in a trance. anytime i read your poem it transports me into realms of awareness.
nice piece, keep it coming

What a gorgeous piece! And it says so much. You truly
do own a heart of gold, my friend. And your words of wisdom
are endless. Today I was feeling a bit sorry for myself
because of certain things just not going my way, but
this piece has brought such a change to my soul. I thank
you for that. I AM blessed to have so much and that is
what I will hold in my heart today. ^_^ This line really
spoke to me ..

"show words of mercy, compassion, eliminating grouchy!"

wow! That is just the most incredible thing I could have
heard this morning. And you are so right! More change and
happiness can be found with compassion and beauty, than
with the selfishness that accompanies "grouchy". Thank you
for this amazing piece of profound thought that really stirs
the mind and heart alike. You never cease to amaze. :)

many happy thoughts and hugs
~ M
(btw, I love Leo Buscaglia! I have a couple of his books)
