The Loner

Contributed by nobodyJQ on Monday, 10th May 2010 @ 04:44:16 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Dark streets, bad corners
A city of mourners
Yet they smile like pontiffs
I’ve been given the insight
To serenade the unloved

Chain reaction drive the biological
Metabolism, the living, the desolate.
Dawn breaks on a new street
Street of thugs,
The rich and the famous
Street for the loner

All movement’s pass through the all Seeing Eye
A motion sensor, so accurate
He carefully scans the surrounding
Looking for a perfect candidate.
Candidate for heaven?
Lord have mercy

People pass, some stop
Just to glare at him, some to drop a penny
For the same penny shall he live on
All he utters is the same gospel
“Blessed is the hand that giveth”
Ignore this it will come to haunt you
Heed this it shall come to appease you

For he ain’t no ordinary beggar
He is authentic, God’s son
I just call him
The Loner
