“When men are most sure and arrogant they are commonly most
mistaken, giving views to passion without that proper deliberation which
alone can secure them from the grossest absurdities” ~ David Hume

Surrender your rectitude and some shall feign accord,
here in the folded dank swamp of vanity
But do not be inclined to assume
that this alliance will be inked in blood
You are but a plebeian puppet-
alimony for the psyche of esteem
(And you thought speech was free)

Running barefoot through the muck
of requisitioning pride
and imperious favours,
one is destined to get contaminated
But the company remains a constant vesicle of complacency

In the aim of writing sonnets
worthy of praising the moon
a lament carries the weight of spiked indignation

And the unparalleled are dismissed,
by the immensity
of deluded and swollen minds

I saw these bruised egos on eBay and seems no win is bidding on them anymore. After a while, when a person is all about me me me, in the end that's will be all they have because the others will stop caring. I suppose that's fine ... for them, the bruised ego resellers.

Sometimes I see a line from a poem that stands out from a poem and point it out. Unfortunately, I love all the lines from this poem so could not choose just one...oh wait, that would be fortunately.

Perfectly done!!! Smile!

Tim

Hi,

WOW!! I can almost hear and see the dense
fallout from shattered and exploded unsuspecting
egos from around globe - gently floating to
earth, only to be disdainfully crushed beneath
the feet of the righteous, yet humble, majority!

I would not ...... I repeat ...... I would not favour
being 'out of favour' with your goodself because
I love your poetry and I salute your articulation!

Rest your pen (not for long, though) - you have
done a grand job!

Tommy

A brilliant write holding strength and truth close to ones chest as it unloads genuine. So wonderfully written that it brings the eyes back to the beginning for another read. Raw and full of emotion that makes me smile. Terrific job!
