My soul flew up high
I waved goodbye to my body
And raised beyond the sky

In this new place
All seemed fine
Until I read a sign
“please wait in line”

Single file, the souls stood
Awaiting their turn
To speak with one person
Whom will inform them if they’ll burn

I could not move
but follow the line and wait
I guess its not bad
Its not like I have a date

It was a sea of clouds
That was our endless floor
And at the end of the line
Was a black and white door

I see a woman
Sitting at a desk
Speaking to the people
Giving them their task

But the words are silent
In fact I head nothing at all
I cannot speak
This is getting rather dull

Like a DMV
On a Monday afternoon
Bring a brown bag
Your not leaving soon

After what seemed years
Of being lost in my head
I am next in line
To find out what happens when you’re dead

The lady was quite pretty
her clothes were what and her skin was pale
white flowing hair and soft pink lips
a mature smile was familiar as well

when she gave me that smile
she spoke in my mind
a sweet voice
with words so kind…

“You never did die
Silly old man
Please wake up
And get to work when you can!”

Woe unto the old man who wallows in patience. What beautiful art flows from this patience. We should make it last as long as it can then, so we can all benefit from the artists eloquent dialogue with love.
