lives quiet of sound only to be timed
by bliss and bags of delirium,

destiny dying by the minute’s turn
undetected potential left them stupefied,

delirious from altitude’s sickness
the peak could never be envisioned,

kite’s flying high never lingering low
as the white wind strings them along,

jaded from wrong, the answers
painted over by consumption and lust,

a new beginning cast behind the sun
waiting to shed the fires shadow,

pleasures pixels blinded by pearls
they fall into the abyss of captured lights

Wow. Humans are so hopeless. They really think they
have an unlimited amount of time and even more importantly
an unlimited amount of chance. So sad when someone
looks back on their life and realizes, the heights they reached
weren't even close to the limits they COULD have attained.
Michelangelo once said
"The greater danger for most of us lies not in
setting our aim too high and falling short; but in
setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark. "

And how immensely WELL you expressed that in this.
Just a perfect blend of emotion, description and daring.
This is pure poetic essence. And SO well done!

Always a pleasure reading you! -- Achelois

Lives quiet of sound only to be timed by bliss and bags of delirium, perfecftly worded to summarise the gut wrenchingly sad loss of fulfilled life, excellent write, leaves me with nothing but an overwhelming feeling of sadness
