I sat in my garden at daybreak, melancholy,
Awaiting the rise of the morning sun and with it,
An almost palpable resurgence of life within its reach.
I love this time in spring, when the purple and blue hues
Stretch across the morning sky, blending with the rising sun
The orange glow like a pastel stroke on a canvas,
A horizon which until now was shady grey.
The moon gives way to its larger sister in the sky,
The sky is blue but the moon still resides,
Almost reluctant to give up its position in the heavens.
The first rays of the sun, like lasers, impact upon the trees,
The apple and cherry blossom highlighted and impacted upon the eye.
I sigh and revel at the beauty and continuity of the change,
When the Moon gives way to the Sun and feel within,
That remarkable uplift of emotion, spirit and hope.

The upswing of a cycle or perhaps a final release? The use of color is brilliant. Well done.
