You start with nothing:
Nothing to gain, nothing to lose
Nothing to hide, nothing to show--
A lot of nothing,
(Which is still nothing.)

High, high above the tops
Of men, where mice
Are no more miniscule
And top-level executives
Are eye-level (at best),
You start.

To wonder, or wander,
The wonder of wander
Because breathing without moving
Is suffocating in yourself in the past.

Hop, skip, and a step
Simplicity being no simple thing to achieve
Would haves and could haves and should haves
As you stare forty stories down in the face.

And the world turns sideways,
Or upside down, and from a different angle
Flashing before your eyes
Is just some corny euphemism
For the way things look at terminal velocity.

So you close your eyes, you’re so close
And suddenly, there is no down,
No up, no wrong, and you wonder
If this is the closest
We’ll ever come to flying.

—And then you realize, falling isn’t so scary
Because falling means the world wants to catch you,

Even if no one else will

"falling means the world wants to catch you"

I really like that.

Is it safe to say I found sense in this? You've taken words
and pushed them around so as to perfectly describe the
chaos that accompanies the mind in searching. For what
remains to be seen, but the idea that falling isn't so scary?
Magnificent. This is just exceptional writing. Thank you for
the read.

Most enjoyable! -- Achelois

Hi,

I wondered where you'd got to. Unless I'm
missing something, haven't seen you posting for
some time(?)

And as usual your poetry is awash with intelligent
thought-provoking intimations. A world of mice
and men (and women) where the difference
lies only in size.

Some wonderful lines here. Well scripted.

Tommy
