That you put in my way
I can’t stand to get up
And live every day

You left me one night
Now my life I can’t lead
You just can’t seem to see
It’s you that I need

You call me once in awhile
So see if I’m alright
Then you hang up
And everything turns to night

Then I’m sitting in the dark
Without a hand to hold
Now I just can’t see
Why it’s turning cold

So can’t you come back?
And bring the sun back to me
Why can’t you unlock your heart?
Don’t you have the key?

Really good poem. I enjoyed reading it. I felt the heartache in this poem while reading it, good job.

Very sad when the comfort and joy we once had, disappears
from our life. And no matter how hard we try to hang on to
even the smallest morsel of emotion, we are left so empty
and lost from the strain. This was a very good illustration
of that. Wonderful writing.
