It holds water, but it leaks emotions
Its not alabaster, its grey and pleated
Somedays it is soft, but usually it takes on the properties of steel
I learn these facts at school because I'm a goody-goody

My cage isn't filled with friends and lovers
It has knives, but the edges are dull
And there are guns, but there's no bullets
The walls are made of religious commitments
The floor is Christian parents
But my cage is sound proof, so I still look like a goody-goody

The outside of my cage is gaily painted
But the inside is covered with brains and sporatic poetry
People tell me to stop thinking, they want me to relax
But I can't, I know too much now
I can still study though, and I get 88 on my report card
After all, I'm a goody goody [comments] => 4 [counter] => 189 [topic] => 6 [informant] => Uncooked [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )
