And cry myself to sleep
Because thinking of you
Makes my heart want to weep

I used to think
I was mad at you
But the beauty of day
Made it clear it wasn’t true

Why do I feel so empty,
Now that you are gone?
And why can no one else
Hear your angel’s song?

It seemed that God was mad at me
For not wanting you to die
When all that I wanted in the entire world
Was a chance to say goodbye

I’ve said goodbye so many times before
That it just didn’t seem fair
That the one time that it really mattered
I wasn’t allowed to be there

I guess that in theory
The pain should be gone
But we live in the real world
Where it just keeps going on

My love will last
Till the very end
When all that is lost
Will find its way again

In a slightly different sense I did not have the opportunity to say goodbye to my father before he died but the point is the same. Atruly emotional read. Well done. Aliopterix.
