The thoughts and fears gain momentum,
Growing in power, creating a fulcrum
To separate mind from body, body from soul
A devilish ploy to make me lose control.
The pain in my head becomes a throbbing
Of such momentous pain it is robbing
And stripping the layers of reality,
Threatening my damaged and fragile sanity.
As soon as it starts it seems to subside
My thoughts and dreams return to reside
In the head and the brain which unfortunately lacks
A resistance to these malevolent panic attacks.

You wrote on a topic I can strongly relate to. Each line illustrated the anguish a person can sometimes go when thinking about their future and themselves. Very strong write. Thank you for sharing it.

Great job descriptively, finding powerful adjectives.

Going into a psychological whirl with no choice, hurricane of confusion so intense that it cannot sustain and ebbs again to leave you with the relief you still have your sanity, effectively descriptive as you take us there and bring more understanding

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
