Cat Upon The Rocking Chair

Contributed by Alexa_Bachtel on Friday, 16th April 2010 @ 11:29:06 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

It's not like I didn't care,
It's not like I forgot about myself,
But whenever I recall that time,
I've wasted on you, I could cry,
I talk about you with the tears out in my eyes,
I've got whatever it takes to make my life just fine,
Cos I find my peace when my friends call me
To make sure if I am home.

But anyway there's something missed,
There's something in the water,
That stops me from sleeping well at nights,
And it's getting more clearer with every single day I live,
Cos I don't see the face I came to know,
At the other side of my bed, so I...

Just gotta last another day,
Fulfilling the silence with the revelations,
Being all up in the ear of my lonely listener,
My cat upon the rocking chair
It's there with the belief out to my tears,
It's there, burning aches in the Moon's silver,
My lonely listener
My cat upon the rocking chair

I'm up in trying to get lost
Both in my work and traveling
All around the world.
But every place where I have been to,
Reminds me of what had been and gone.
This little table in Saint-Martin's place
Looks like that one we were sitting that day back when,
This fortune-teller tells me all the same words
I heard as we were walking down in Moscow.
Today it seems so far away and so important anymore
And I'm crying, trying to be fighting this hunger in my heart.

Just gotta last another day,
Fulfilling the silence with the revelations,
Being all up in the ear of my lonely listener,
My cat upon the rocking chair
It's there with the belief out to my tears,
It's there, burning aches in the Moon's silver,
My lonely listener
My cat upon the rocking chair

I wish you knew that I'm so tired of getting round,
Of all my friends that's always asking how are you,
And even of my mom that calls me to make me come back home,
Don't save me from the devastation anymore,
From the weak and hollow hope on moving through
Which almost faded away since you'd been gone...
And now...

Just gotta last another day,
Fulfilling the silence with the revelations,
Being all up in the ear of my lonely listener,
My cat upon the rocking chair
It's there with the belief out to my tears,
It's there, burning aches in the Moon's silver,
My lonely listener
My cat upon the rocking chair

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
