to fly off to worlds undiscovered,
where I am I
and all around me, I am at peace with

I dream of wings that will unbound me.

Not from the earth or its gravity,
but to those who walk it,
And condemn those who run

I dream of a virgin infinity,
for me to walk, smell and feel…
earth alive for me to walk on,
air infused with energy rather than haste

I dream if an eternal car ride,
next to a mountain
and a sunset unbound of responsibility,
I dream of silence, of exhalations

I dream of your burning eyes
staring at me,
igniting me,
my void full of methane…
Ablaze.
Set me ablaze.
Set this world ablaze and douse my body in gasoline...

Set me free.

I dream not of silence,
but of lack of sound…
not of blindness,
but of night…

I dream of standing alone
at an endless meadow,
of endlessness, period,
of sand dancing to time,
enveloping me,
feeling,
but not touching…

I dream of the shadow of a bridge
against an eternal sunset,
of light passing thru me,
of shadow... Relief

I dream of a lone voice singing,
and a single ear hearing,
but not intending to find anything but sound,
just hearing…

I dream of leaping off a cliff,
below me an endless landscape of grass, marshes and solitude,
of deserts, meadows, and sunsets,
of water in an hourglass. . .

as I fly,
ad infinitum… [comments] => 0 [counter] => 180 [topic] => 54 [informant] => Obnoxious_Bread [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => happypoetry )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
