Darkness envelopes me with a complete caress.
Light exposes imperfection and causes duress.
In the dark I can think without distraction,
Yet light shows too much, not much of an attraction.

The dark envelopes your skin, makes you stronger
The light is too bright and you wish the dark longer.
In blackness and shade you feel invulnerable
But in light your life brings nothing but trouble.

Peace, tranquillity, no abject sound exists in the dark
Yet light brings with it noises so loud and so stark.
Introspection, reflection is easy to find
When placed in a space where you’re effectively blind.

The light gives us colour, depth and clear sight
But for thought it’s impossible, try as you might.
Too much distraction enters your mind
To the point where you wish that you could be made blind

Darkness my friend with your beautiful silence
Presents a Utopia, a majestic presence.
An environment for reflection thought and debate
A chance and a time to work out your fate.

You envelope me, just like a second skin
And immediately thoughts and actions begin.
Some people have total fear of your darkness
But they have never felt your subtle caress.

In the darkness you are solitary, safe and secure
Your thoughts become positive, pure and demure
Not brash and immediate forced by the light.
For me the darkness is my second sight.

Darkness

Darkness envelopes me with a complete caress.
Light exposes imperfection and causes duress.

Ahhhhh....it's like a chilled glass of wine.
Bright and sharp at first, but the tone
mellows and more flavors are revealed
with each sip. A delightful journey into
the dark. Two of my favoite lines:

"Darkness my friend with your beautiful
silence Presents a Utopia, a majestic
presence."

You've once again, nailed the dark-effect
right on the nose. Great job, my friend!

Be well,
~L
