I was asked this question yesterday
There was an ill feeling that came when it was asked that way
Why do you write of such things as death and destruction?
Do you so dislike life and brilliant construction?

The way you write so fondly of death is a disgrace
Do you not understand to me it is a slap in the face?
I wish I had never been introduced to your writing
I think all you are concerned with is death and fighting

I replied back as quickly as I could speak
If you take the time to read you will find the answers you seek
I write of love and life with the same passion as death
I will continue to do so with each remaining breath

To understand anything about me you must take the time to read
You will see though I can be hard as titanium, my heart still can bleed
My writes are not always meant to heal me or my soul
Trying to get the message to them is my goal

The reasons why we have written a piece of work esp if it appears very dark or self pitying can be easily misconstrued but not to the soul that connects with the words the feelings and the heart that has poured it out, well written

I write to empty my brain.
There are many other reasons too but that would take so long.
Sounds to me like who ever said these things is uncouth to say the least.
any ways don't get me started.
Good work friend and write, write, write.
Smiles, huggs, blessings,
emy

Straight forward and thought provoking. Im sure so many question writers and the reasons why but as stated already the list is endless and can change from day to day. To me a writer is a sponge soaking up every emotion and then is squeezed dry til the next occasion. Great write.

take care

Such a simple yet difficult question, and I love your unique answer. This has given me some things to think over...

I think that, quite simply, we write because
we must. That's the base of it. Are there
different flavors, needs, expressions? Of
course, as you've pointed out here. Often
I've found that whatever needs to come out,
will find a way, and what began as one thing
might turn to something else. What matters
is that we are true to ourselves.

Nice work!

Be well,
~Loende

Fine write, my friend. You've expressed yourself with eloquence and skill. To question a writer as to why they write is to question a bird as to why it flies. As for the piece itself ... art is completely and utterly subjective. How a write is interpreted is more of a reflection on how the reader sees the world than the writer. Well versed, dw.

i like how u wrote this in the most honest and mature manner.
it's true that poems give insight to our identity.
but besides, our words are only part of the story right?
well done as always!

take care

-K.Z.
