Like I thought it would
I hold back the tears
In the best way that I could
All our hopes
And all our dreams
And all those memories
Are still here

During troubled times
When everything went wrong
You stood up to be counted
You believed and you were strong
The past no longer holds fear
The future is near

I will wait forever
I will still be here
I hope one day you'll come back
And we'll share the rest of our years
Together we will do things we never dared to try
Together we have a love that will never die

Even though you're now gone
I'll try and stay strong
I still believe in destiny
And I'll wait here for eternity [comments] => 4 [counter] => 249 [topic] => 22 [informant] => chrisdavid [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

I dont think anything I could say would say it like this poem does.
Straight from the heart.
Yes, we try to stay strong even when things do turn to custard.
Well done. When you can relate in someway to a poem, it speaks volumnes. I can relate.

Wow, the melancholy in this is wrenching. But the steadfastness of the one who waits is beautiful. It speaks to not only the will but the character of that person. If only more were that dedicated and strong. This was inspiring. Truly inspiring. Even amidst the sadness. Thank you for sharing it.

What a very touching poem, chrisdavid.
I think many people could relate to the feelings you've written about.

Stay strong.
