And the endless rolling plains,
O’er sun-bathed hills,
My heart soared free and strong,
Like the silver mustang, powerful and wild,
Galloping with the prairie winds, melded together,
As one.
Earth thundering beneath my hooves,
Racing with the sky-born eagles,
Blessed with the peace of the argent fingers of the moon,
Enamored with the whisper of the bubbling spring,
That doth enchant all with its mystery,
Half-hidden by the swaying rushes.

But life’s burdens and duties doth now stoop my shoulders low,
And in this hectic scurry from moon-set to moon-rise,
No time is to be had,
To warm my sintering soul
In the warm sun’s welcoming rays.

And so, to that cause,
Do I know kneel upon one knee,
In a sun-kissed clearing,
Guarded by tall green pines,
One fist on the damp ground,
The other o’er my heart,
Head bowed as I pray,
To life’s almighty gods.
Let the birds and beasts by my witnesses!

“O mighty be-est thou, Lord of the Sun!
O bringer of warmth and joy!
I beseech thee!
Grant me hope!
Lord!
Be my beacon of light in the dark,
So that I may follow my dreams once more!”

“And thou,
Brilliant master of the Fire!
Ever Lord o’er the passion that rules the heart!
Aid me, my Lord,
Bestow upon my your gift,
To enflame my soul
And give me the courage
To surmount all the obstacles and mockeries
That stand upon my path!
Let thine holy fire vanquish mine enemies!”

“Earth, immortal god and most revered of them all!
Giver of Life,
He that never abandoned Thera,
To thee I pray also:
Let me be loyal and steadfast!
Lord!
Harden my will
So that my star may forever shine
Though the night be long and dark
So that one morn,
It may bathe in the light once more.”

“Aie! And Goddess…
Guardian of the mountain springs!
Renewer of life and all things that go named beneath the stars!
Ye that cleanses all hurts!
Fair lady!
Lend me an ear! I humbly beg of ye!
Let your silent waters wash away each of my sorrows with the passing of the day,
By you will,
Let me begin each afresh,
With the innocence of a child,
To lead me though the day.”

“Soul that lives within the wind,
And at last I pray to thee,
Wild, yet discrete,
Free and at peace,
Most beloved of all the Gods that shaped this Earth!
Thou art the shaper of thoughts and the binding force of Life,
Bless me, Spirit, best cherished,
With the tranquility of the heart,
Contentness and confidence
To reach for the silver apple,
That hangs upon the tallest trees.
Lady of the Wind and Stars,
Drown me with your ancient wisdom,
Teach me, my Lady,
To stand strong and free,
To withstand the storms alone,
If need be.”

Earth, Sun, Water, Fire,
Wind, Star, Sprit, Moon and Tree,
Gods and Goddesses,
Hear my words, I beg of thee,
Lend me your strength,
So, May it Be.

Hmmmmmmmm..........people like you who exalt and glorify the elemental forces of the world are so hard to find...these days, are we becoming so attached to careers, modern entertainments and innovations that we have forgotten our roots?

Thanx. I truly appreciate that comment/compliment/distinction =P It's true what you say, that we are forgetting our roots, and that saddens me. One will not know what they will miss until it is gone, and by then, it is already too late. I hope that the world and people will never come to that...
