The stars are shining brightly in the night sky.
They remind me of the treasured years gone by.
When I enjoyed the endless moments of your charms,
I cherished intimately holding you in my arms.

My blissful days have silently turned into lonely years.
My great hopes became overshadowed by my worst fears.
I never imagined my queen, one day, would not be here.
I never thought I would lose someone so dear.

I remember the heavenly joys that can never be replaced.
I, even, remember the delicate feel of your lovely face.
Oh, how I miss all the glorious days of old.
Oh, how I long for the lover of my soul.

I'll always have special memories of my love.
My soul mate has now gone forever to live above.
I stand at the grave where my companion now lies.
After all these years, it's still hard to say my goodbyes.

I've lost the love of my life much too soon.
All my friends say time will heal my wounds.
I can't understand the exact reason why.
The reason the lover of my soul had to die.

I'll forever have special memories of our love.
Until that day, I’m called to live in heaven above.
There's one thing for sure I can always rely.
In heaven, we’ll never have to say goodbye.

Young love conquers all... at least that is how we feel when we first fall in love. Our problems seem to disappear when we are near the one we love. Hope rises; joy springs forth and love blossoms in our heart. I wish young love could last forever however it does not.

Two years into our marriage, we were given some bad news when Velda went for her routine physical. She tested positive for HIV. This news devastated us as we tried unsuccessfully to trace the origin of her infection. Unfortunately, I helplessly watched as she slowly withered away to only a shadow of her former self.

Foolishly placing my hope in all the expensive experimental medications that the doctors quickly prescribed to her, I hoped and prayed that they would work. Nevertheless, three short but wonderful years after we married, my precious wife died. For a while, the worst periods of depression came twice every year, on October 31, her birthday, and May 29, the day I married Velda and the same day that she died.

I've lost the love of my life much too soon, such a beautiful write in its honesty,an inspirational write in its outpouring of a heart full of love, and a deeply sad write in your expression of your loss of your soulmate.
