He is late again,working supposedly,
He slips quitely into the room in bare feet,
She hears him but pretends to be asleep.

Together they have been for a long time,
She has known for years another was on his mind,
Broken heart and spirit she guards real well,
This part of her life is a living hell.

Depression is her past time, bitterness her life,
Why does he do this to her she has been a good wife,
Should she confront him with all she knows,
But all of their marriage he has had control.

Gone are the children with lives of their own,
For some reason she needs him rather than be alone,
Prehaps one day it will come to an end,
Will it be to late for her to begin and again.

Depression is depressed anger,
That will finally take you down,
After years of humilation,
Anger stays around.

AHHHHHH!!!!!! You all make the same stupid mistakes.

First of all DON'T MAKE IT RHYME!!!! I mean fricken hell.

Secondly, the object of peotry is not to tell us. It is to make us think, to make us consider the human experience and the trials and hardships involved therein. Don't tell us what's happeining, show us. Use your words and images to paint a picture for us to look at and understand. Poetry is not a ten second tv spot. You put thought into writing it, make us put thought into understanding it.
