LONELY POET

Contributed by annie on Saturday, 12th April 2003 @ 05:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

THE WORDS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL THAT YOU WRITE,
THEY TELL SAD STORIES MOST ALL DARK AS NIGHT
HAPPINESS SEEMS TO DRIFT JUST OUT OF YOUR REACH,
IF YOU WILL LISTEN I SHALL TRY TO TEACH,
NO LIFE IS PERFECT FOR ANYONE ON THIS EARTH,
IT IS WHAT WE MAKE OF IT EVEN THOUGH WE HURT
DOWN DEEP INSIDE OUR FEELING WE TRY TO HIDE,
PRETENDING WE ARE HAPPY JUST TO SAVE OUR PRIDE
AND IF WE COULD SIT TOGETHER FOR A SHORT WHILE
TRUSTING EACH OTHER MIGHT BRING A SMILE
YOU, GREAT POET, COULD TEACH ME ABOUT POEMS,
TELL ME TRUTHFULLY WHAT CAUSES YOU TO MOURN.
FRIENDS WE BECAME ALMOST OVER NIGHT,
CLOSELY I WILL LISTEN OF YOUR SAD FIGHT
TRYING TO SAVE YOUR SANITY WITHIN THE WORDS YOU PEN
OUR STORIES ARE SO SIMILAR FOR I ALSO HAVE BEEN
DOWN SO LOW WHERE NOT A PERSON WOULD LISTEN,
WAKING IN THE MORNINGS AS A TEAR DROP GLISTEN
THESE SIMPLE SMALL WORDS TO YOU I SHALL SEND,
JUST LETTING YOU KNOW I AM YOUR FRIEND
MY SHOULDERS ARE STRONG AS YOU MAY CAN TELL,
BUT THAT IS NOT WHERE YOUR POETIC WORDS FELL,
TO MY HEART THEY WENT STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW,
DEAR FRIEND, I AM HERE FOR YOU, TODAY AND TOMORROW.

2002
Annie
